And now it's time to think about next season. Here are some things to think about. For one the status of Jimmy Rollins is a question mark. He is looking for a 5 year deal, and at his age I don't think the Phillies are willing to go more than a 2 year deal with some incentives. The talk of a big time contract being offered to Cole Hamels is a probability. The Phillies will gain some wiggle room with contracts being ended like Raul Ibananz in the area of 12 million dollars. Also The end of Brad Lidge as a Philly that's another 10 million dollars. We 're finaly done with the free money we gave Joe Blanton 11.5 million dollars. We need some pieces to the puzzle to bring this all together. One, we need a true closer, to go with a good set up man in Ryan Madson. The hopes that Dominic Brown is ready to go out there and play left field. The biggist question of all is the devastating injury to Ryan Howard. Now that he is locked in to a 5 year extended contract worth over a hundred million dollars of garanteed money, put's the phillies in the hold you're breath pause for the next 4 monthes.

Bring it Home !

The Phillies are at home for the deciding game 5 of the series tonight at Citizens Bank Park. Roy (Doc) Holliday takes the mound in this epic tale of a team that set a franchise record 102 games this season. Now it's at the point of no return win or the whole season means nothing sad but true. This season's dominance has reached a level of winning the World Series or nothing. Us as Philly fans has gotten pretty used to winning have we gotten spoiled. If it all was over tomorrow would we be thank full of all the thrills that this past season had to offer us. I think it's safe to say let's just win it all so we don't have to find out.

Big Win For The Dream Team

The Philadelphia Eagles played very impressive against the Rams on Sunday. With a World Series win in 2008, and a National League Championship in 2009, also reaching the NLCS last season, winning the World Series this season could make a good case that this team is already or on it's way in becoming a dynasty. It makes life all the more beutiful, Don't you think?

Phillies on Fire!

The Philadelphia Phillies are on fire. With Hunter Pence consistantly hitting enables Ryan Howard to swing at strikes opposed to balls in the dirt. Also with Polanco back at third base is key due to the injury to chase Utley. Pitcher Cliff Lee has made a run for a Cy Young award form the National League in part of an amazing August with a 4-0 record with comeplete game shutouts in all but 1 due to a two out hit in the 9 inning to spoil the shutout. Front runner" Doc" Halladay has been pitching like a solid Cy Young candidant
ever since the season opener. This should make for an interesting duel when we reach the post- season. Having Roy Oswalt back in the rotation makes it pretty interesting down the stretch for Charley Manuel
to decide who his fourth starter whould be in the post- season because that legitimately that is Vance Worley
spot. Also Lee's arsonal of pitches kept the Giant's batters baffeled all night. The complete game shutout with a game high 7 strikeouts. A good change from the past few outings. Lead-off homeruns by Pence and Mayberry Jr. set the stage of the game for the Phillies in San Francisco. The final score 3-1 in favor of your fighting Phills. Lee's curve ball had plenty of bite last night fooling Aaron Rowling proved that. The fast ball had good movement witch kept the giants off balanced. It was just another impressing game perfornence from Cliff Lee. Also notable Philadelphia Phillies news Brad Lidge recieved his 100 save for the Phills and his first of the season. That along with the sweep of the Clorodo Rockies was monumental. Roy Oswalt hopefully will return to the rotation soon he seems to be ready for action, and so are we. That would be the final piece of the playoff puzzle. How could anybody hit that all-star line-up of pitchers. Leading off with Roy Doc Halladay, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels,Vance Worley and Roy Oswalt. And now with Brad Lidge back for the first time all season gives the Phillies two potential closers for the stretch and for the post-season. Madson is your closer thus far this season, but things could change during crunch time.
